“The original woodfire pizza in town” – that’s the tagline for El Mondo’s Pizza, located at the ground floor of Krystal Point, few shops away from the 7-Eleven. Slightly further down, you will find another Pizza outlet: Domino’s Pizza.
Not sure how the craving for pizza started, but having passed by Krystal Point numerous times but never venturing into this restaurant, a group of us decided to give it a try and see whether the place truly lived up to its tagline...
El Mondo Pizza is located at Krystal Point, Bayan Lepas next to Eigthteen. It opened a couple of months back. The dining environment is set for fine dining experience. However, don't expect much from environment to be superb here. Generally here serves italian and western food. It has more than pizza.
First pic is the iced mocha before stirred. Well it suppose to be espresso+milk+chocolate but I just tasted milk+chocolate. So essentially it taste like chocolate milk to me. Second pic is the stirred version. Stiring took me 5 mins too because it was too full with ICE...
This Restaurant is located at Crystal Point area just next to Eighteen Restaurant. It’s been opened for quite a while probably less than 1 year old. Business so far looks good with a moderate amount of customers everyday. Dining here, is an experience as everyone here is so friendly. You have the owner coming up to every table to chat up with the customers, mainly to get feedbacks of the food.
What is unique here is that they serve wood fired pizzas – thin crust pizza baked in a wood fire oven. Pizza crust served here has a different taste to the crust from Pizza Hut or Dominos. Funny, once I ate, was wondering why there were black spots in the crust. Thought it was some mold...
Last night was a stressful night for both of us. Got unsolved problem at work. Came home and yet still need to continue to do assignment. Mimi worked late last night. I continue to do my assignment while waiting for him to be back. He came back around 7pm....then we went for dinner at El Mondo Pizza (this is the nearest and fastest food we can get around the area).
Well...if you ask me, i would tell you that i will not go back for second round. Got what i mean? First of all, the price is rather expensive...so when you ordered something so expensive, you tend to expect a reasonable portion of food to be served. Look at the pizza above...
Located at a business center namely Kristal Point, when El Mondo Pizza restaurant was first opened in September 2007, I visited the place and ordered their specialty - El Mondo Special (RM20.90 Net) which is wooden baked. It has rich topping and thin base which make it a better choice compared to one of the popular pizza chain restaurants here.
The restaurant at that time is smoky as there is a microwave near the counter used to toast bread for soup of the day. Now, the environment becomes much better and I noticed a Coway air purifier installed next to the door. They also provide western food and set lunch...
