Seoul Garden at Sunrise Tower is probably one of the very first Korean restaurants in Penang. I remember the restaurant being there as far back as my memory could remember.
In the back of my mind, I had always thought that dining at this type of place would be rather expensive, and at the time, something that my RM 2.20/hr McDonald’s job would never allow me to afford. I was just look at people going in and out while I was flipping burger in the same building.
I made it a point that I would visit this place eventually, but little did I know that it actually took over one and a half decade before that happened...
Seoul Garden is located at Sunrise tower, at the junction of Gurney Drive. It’s concept is different from the other Seoul Garden located inside Gurney Plaza, which is a buffet steamboat outlet.
The shop is on the first floor, accessed through a flight of steps just beside Pizza Hut outlet. The restaurant is spacious enough and can accommodate about 10-15 tables of four seats.

Don't worry, they're not in Penang. Cause if they do, Penang island would sink with overwhelming amount of old and young women. Hahaha.
What I actually meant was... KOREAN FOOD.
In Penang, you can find Japanese food at almost every corner of busy streets, but you can spot only a few Korean food place. Don't worry though, Korean food places in Penang is multiplying...
Talking about Seoul Garden in Penang, most of the people might refer to the steamboat buffet restaurant in the ground floor of Gurney Plaza. Anyway there is another famous korean style restaurant which name Seoul Garden Restaurant as well in Penang, coincidentally it is located within Gurney area too.
The main differences of this Seoul Garden Restaurant compare to the buffet in Gurney Plaza is this restaurant is more emphasis on ordinary Korean food and less on commercialization. The restaurant owner is a Koreans as well and this restaurant has been here for more than 20 years...
