Many people travel to Penang for all the famous hawkers food available, it was completely different for my case during my last weekend short trip back home.
Baby bro was home alone (not anymore with my presence back home) as my parents, again, went on a short trip romancing in Cameron Highlands just the 2 of them. Every time when his big sis is back home, it means FOOD and more FOOD to him. Well, it depends whether is he free enough to layan (entertain) me or not.....
We went to Kim Garry for lunch and Manhattan Fish Market in New World Park...
Dad treated the clan to lunch at Prontip Thai Restaurant in Penang for Chinese New Year. He ordered from the Chinese New Year set menu which cost RM288.00 for incredibly large portions of 8 dishes, enough for a table of 10. The set menu included steamed rice, chinese tea, tidbits and napkins, so it was a pretty good deal!
It was gastronomic madness, the amount of food that we had! What a sight!
We started with the Prontip 4 Precious Season.....
Prontip Thai Restaurant located in Yesterday Club on Lebuhraya Peel, Penang is an outlet that specialised in authentic Thai cuisines. We had dinner there several times but recently we went there for the buffet lunch.
Drinks (mango juice and chrysanthenum tea) and desserts are inclusive in the buffet. Dishes included the popular – tom yam soup, otak-otak, deep fried spring roll, satay, deep fried kangkong, pork leg vinegar and sour mango kerabu.
They do serve plain rice, fried rice and fried noodles to accompaniment...
Located at Peel Road in Pulau Tikus area, this restaurant offers Thai cuisine and late last year, they started their Buffet Lunch in the afternoon. Priced at RM10.90 (weekdays) and RM12.90(weekends), the buffet seems to attract a crowd of Thai food or buffet lovers.
I find choices rather limited as there were only about 10 dishes and dessert, fruits and also drinks. But for such RM10.90-RM12.90, what more can we ask for, right?:)
They have tomyam soup, Laksa Siam,Kerabu, Fried Vege, Stir-fried vege, Fish/Prawns (Occasional), Chicken, Curry,Fish Cakes, Omelette,Satay, white rice, fried beehoon, fried rice...
Last week I took niece Lena and her Hongkie friend Vivian, to this restaurant which serves Thai food. I like to come here often as the food here is good and not too expensive. Besides there is ample parking space unlike from its old place at Burma road. Presently they also offer buffet lunches at affordable price that I have yet to try. We order rice with some dishes for our lunch as it was quite late.
Seafood Tom Yam.......no comment as I did not try this as its too acidic for my weak stomach.
Green curry chicken......my favorite dish as it is not too spicy...
