Happy New Year folks! 3 days into the new year, hope those resolutions are going strong. As for me, I never make resolutions, because I always end up breaking them! Plus, I would think that resolutions can be made at any time of the year, not necessarily during the new year only.

It was a very hot Sunday when we found ourselves at Autocity, Juru Penang looking for something to appease our rumbling tummies. I suggested Golden Triangle, having heard from a friend that the food was good. The rest hastily agreed, not wanting to waste another minute under the glaring hot sun.

We walked in, our eyes having to adjust to the dark interior. The Golden Triangle serves IndoChine cuisine – basically Thai, Vietnamese and Laosian food. And I was excited because I love Thai food.

We browsed through the menu not knowing what to order. The waiter was quite helpful in giving recommendations and bless him for suggesting their fresh Pineapple Juice...

The Golden Triangle IndoChine Restaurant current outlets in Auto-City and Queenbay Mall welcomes you with its spacious rustic interior yet elegantly refined finish with wooden canopy and hardwood floors. A relatively new entry in the F&B scene in Penang, The Golden Triangle offers many wonderful delights to its diners. The deco is nice. Takes you back to the atmosphere of you being in Indo China. Teak wood, wooden elephants and wooden huts. The food is a combo of Thai, Vietnamese and Loatian. Food there typically has a strong taste/aroma.

We had the Tom Yam Soup and green curry chicken and the Vietnamese spring roll (specialty). Tom Yam has a balanced of taste but tends to be on the spicy side. So order it less spicy should be ok for typical diner. The best was the Vietnamese spring roll (pictured). Deep fried to a fluff and has also a balanced taste.
