Saturday, noon, the clouds started to roll in. The last time the clouds rolled in on a Saturday lunchtime, Tulip and I paid a visit to Maa Roy Thai so today, we felt it appropriate to repeat the weather-lunch pairing.
Clear tomyam seafood soup. The last time we tried the red version and found it a little sweeter than regular tomyam. The clear version is more sour than sweet, which is just the way I like it. Plentiful flesh from the sea. We drained this clean.
Pork Sambal (northern style). First I've heard of a Thai sambal but anything that looks this fiery is well worth a try. It was sweetly smoky, extremely heavy even as a dip, and it probably wouldn't have worked with...
What shall we have for dinner tonight? Western, Indian, Asian.....? We finally settled on this restaurant. Maa Roy a Thai restaurant. Brother-in-law has been there and (if I'm not mistaken) said we should give it a shot after our recent stint at Chok Dee. Here we are for dinner.
We were served fresh cucumber and long beans together with Thai chili (some sort of sambal) as appetizers. The 'sambal' was great. Our dishes arrived shortly. Deep fried Kangkong, Tom yam, Secret Pork and Otak otak.
This is the Secret Pork. How secret is it? Well, it actually is nothing more than slices of pork marinated in ...
Thai food had always been one of my favourite cuisine. The authentic cuisine brings out flavour of hot, spicy, sour and sweet. A perfect combination for a delightful indulgence as whole. Recently, found out one of the Thai restaurant at Abu Sittee Lane. This restaurant really serves great food as the chef mainly from Thailand. While, the taste is excellent especially Tom Yam soup. There are varieties to chose from the extensive menu. It also indicate 'chef from Thailand' at the front cover :)
Every dish was great. The steam fish is so fresh and sprinkled with lots of garlic, onion, cili padi and most importantly lemon grass. This truly brings out the aroma of the fish and soup. Ooh...its extremely sour. But is still like it and managed to drink up all the soup. Non of my family members can take it though ;p My...
Last weekend, my parents brought me to a Thai restaurant for dinner. The Thai restaurant is called Maa Roy Thai Food located on Lorong Abu Siti. It’s an authentic Thai food restaurant because the chef, the waiter and all working inside is Thai, they speak Thai and English.
This was my first time going there but it’s my parents’ second time.
It’s nice knowing this place. We were served with an appetizer and it’s the Thai salad-liked dish. It’s called nampit if I’m not mistaken, freshly cut cucumber and longbeans, dip it with Thai spicy sambal...
Do you know that there is a new Thai Restaurant in Krystal Point? Well, it is actually a good news for the resident in Bayan Lepas area as you don't have to drive all the way down town. As I believed that this is the same restaurant in Abu Siti Lane, Penang. I never try the town one before but have the opportunity to try the one @ Krystal Point. It barely open for 2 weeks only.
After we were seated, we browsed through the menu. And hubby asked what would we like to have. Both my gal and I just asked hubby to order. So hubby order 5 dishes.
Straight after the order, here come the appetiser. Raw cucumber and long beans with sambal...
