Its makan time again and this time around, the food tasting session was at Louis Cafe located in Argyll Road. This restaurant which was opened on December last year is facing directly opposite Mingood Hotel.
There was a wide selection of dishes and for starters, we had the Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon- RM18 and the Organic Garden Greens – RM15.
Another delightful salad – Scallop Salad. A plate of fresh garden greens with Seared Sea Scallop topped with...
I am honored to be invited again by the food blogger for the food review. This time, Lingzie is the one who organizing it. Thanks to her! I almost missed this food review session if not Mr. Criz told me about it. Thanks to him too!
When I reached there together with Steven and Criz, most of the food bloggers already arrived. We started to take photos on the restaurant and its interior environment before the food review starts.
Exterior and interior environment. The restaurant has a second floor. The ambiance of the restaurant is quiet...
Last week when I was in Penang for CNY, I got invited by Lingzie to join her for a food tasting session at Louis Cafe, Argyll Road. It is just opposite Mingood Hotel. The restaurant opened since Dec 22nd 2008.
The sign board of Louis Cafe are kinda hard to spot if you pass by too fast. This is due to the inconsiderate tailor shop next door for putting the sign board too big.
Second Floor Upstairs for non smokers…contemporary design and cozy environment…
Louis Cafe is a new player in the Western Cuisine food scene, having opened its doors at the end of December 2008. Tucked away in Argyll Road, it is located right opposite Mingood Hotel.
The Penang food bloggers had the good fortune of being invited for a scrumptious meal recently. And boy did we enjoy ourselves!
Louis Cafe offers a rather extensive menu ranging from appetizers, soups, main course and dessert. We kicked start our meal with three different types of salads. The hearty generous portion of...
Today, I am going to share another food review with my reader. At the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Lingzie and Mdm. Teoh for inviting us (food floggers) for attending this food review. lol
Louis Cafe is opening on 22 December 2008. So not many people know about this place yet. The environment is very quiet and cosy. It is a very nice place to catch up with friends, family members or even ideal for business meetings. As Louis Cafe also offer free WiFi. :D...
Usually a good dining place with great food and nice ambience will be pricey or else the whole place will be packed with guests. It is very hard to find a great dining place which is reasonably priced and has the quality of service and peaceful surrounding, unless that place is very new or it is located very remote from the city. Therefore, it is my duty to introduce you with all the great new places in town that give you the first hand infomation to avoid all the hassle while you enjoy the food and environment.
Louis Cafe at Argyll Road is one new western cuisine restaurant that started their business...
Last Sunday afternoon we attended an invited review at Louis Cafe at Argyll Road Penang. It was an arrangement Lingzie and Madam Teoh(the proprietor) came up with. It was not much of a review, but more of a taste and comment type of event. Thus, my posting will just do that without being bias. Actually, the chef and the proprietor were very interactive and very receptive to the comments and ideas that we gave in terms of the taste and flavour of the food and also the marketing ideas to improve their customer turnover.
Some of the other bloggers that have attended the review...
There is a new western corner in town located at the heart of the town itself, along Argyll Road. Louis Cafe is the name and this place serves extensive dishes of western food waiting for you to savour! Thanks to Lingzie for the invitation, PenangTuaPui gladly obliged to visit the place for a review. For those wondering where Argyll Road is, the place is near the wan tan mee shop that we visited some time ago.
Tell you a secret, Huat Koay said he just had too many great photos that he was undecided of which ones to put up. Yes, he really meant a lot of pictures taken during that time...
Forget expensive and over-rated dining outlets. This little gem of a place serves quality Italian & Westernised food at reasonable prices.
Located at a less-congested area of Penang, yet easily accessible due to it’s proximity to town, there is NO reason for any Penangite not to give this charming outlet a shot. Parking is not a problem and service is attentive. Other vital factors such as ambiance and quality of food surpassed our expectations as well.
Thanks to Ken of foodpoi.com,(read about his take here) I was given his “seat” for this session...
My colleagues celebrate my manager and my birthday at Louis Cafe. Before visit to Louis Cafe, I thought that this is a very small size restaurant. Quite surprise that they got a big room at up stair, which can fit around 20 persons and you can having your karaoke session there. During lunch time, they got a set lunch which cost RM 23.90 nett.
The set lunch included soup of the day, one main course: special chicken chop, old classic fish fillet, grilled hawaiian chicken , black pepper fish and holland chicken , beverage: ice lemon/peach tea and free ice-cream.
The mushroom soup was not bad, but the Smoky Jack Ribs and Steak House mushroom soup…
If your name is Louis, the more you should visit this Louis Café at Argyll Road. A café that’s only open barely 2 months old, and it’s managed by Madam Teoh whom has a thought of having her own restaurant and cater for friends and business associates to get to enjoy the food and her companion too.
She has a great passion in making lots of friends, and by doing so, she also loves to invite friends for a meal and for a chat too. With that in mind that’s how she has Louis Café.
On Sunday 8th February, Penang Flogger Community had invited for a food review...
Thanks to Lingzie for arranging this food review session, arranged by Mdm Teoh from Louis Cafe.
Scallop Salsa - RM20 - Seared sea scallops with apple salsa. One can easily finish up this dish within minutes. :)
Classic Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon - RM18 - this caesar salad is 300% better than the one I had before at TGIF(!), HMM! Why I said so? coz for this one its parmesan cheese didn't steal the limelight of the greens like what the TGIF did (like eating every single leaf with SALT, YUCK!)...
Last night 28 of us were called to have dinner together at a western cuisine cafe named Louis Cafe. This cafe owned by my friend, he invited us to have a try on it and he booked the whole floor for us. The food was nice and the place was so relaxing, it is suitable place for dinning...
Recently we had an opportunity to try out and do a review at one of a new cafe located at Argyll Road. Louis Cafe opened for business on 22nd Dec 2008. Barely 2 months old, the owner, Madam Teoh graciously invited the floggers through Lingzie for us to have a taste of their specialty.
The interior is conducive with lower floor and upper floor. The upper floor is nicely decorated and is very suitable for a quiet dining. Or if you have a group, you can even arrange with the owner to book the upper floor to accommodate your plans.
They offer a wide variety of set meals, both for lunch and dinner.
If you are looking for a place where you can savor great food with rich and quality ingredients, you should take note of the latest Western and Asian fusion restaurant in Penang. Opened barely two months ago on 22 December 2008, Louis Café had impressed its customers with its wide arrays of dishes. Most of the dishes served are the own concoctions of their few experienced chefs. Thanks to Lingzie for arranging this gathering yesterday as some of us were able to review on their food quality, taste, flavor and ambience. I would say this is a cool place for group meetings, family functions and a romantic evening for love birds with their averagely lighted atmosphere.
Let’s start the food introduction in proper sequence. Salads were first and we were...
